We used Some sampled voices from the radio and chopped them up. Some were digitally rearranged to say, among other things, “Life itself has absolutely no meaning.” It was not the speaker's actual message. Polar made them say that. Polar believes that that statement is only half true in a way that is not nihiistic, but is a source of constant surprise and inspiration to seek meaning in life. Please don’t commit suicide. The piece is dedicated to Chuck Knaubloch and his courageous quest to find meaning in his last years in major league baseball. Ken Burns and others will agree that baseball is a great metaphor for human life on earth.
